For a few weeks now I have been making this Pumpkin Spice Simmering Stove top Potpourri  that I found on the Free People blog and our house smells divine!

½ gallon apple cider
1 cup canned pumpkin
3 cinnamon sticks
1 tablespoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon whole cloves

Directions

Fill a saucepan ¾ full with apple cider. Mix in pumpkin, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and whole cloves. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce to low heat. When the mixture gets low, add more apple cider (or water if necessary). Be sure not to let the mixture scorch.

ENJOY! You will thank me later!

I have had Adelle's new song "Hello" on repeat.... literally!

Purchased a Fiddle Leaf tree for our home. Now to keep it alive.... I have been reading up on the care of them. They sound tricky so please wish me luck! My favorite article can be found from Apartment Therapy here (the article includes information on watering, light, re-potting etc)

Fiddle Leaf tree's are finicky so with that being said I was advised not to re-pot mine right away so I am going to leave it in the plastic container it came in for a month or so before I re-pot it (any potting suggestions would be wonderful..... basket? planter box?)

I purchased my fiddle leaf tree for $29 (something) at Home Depot. It's almost 5 feet tall so it really was a steal. Home Depot also has 1 year return policy on plants which is a bonus. The plant was in okay condition but to brighten up the leaves I cleaned them with Trader Joe organic coconut oil (see below)

Just purchased these stylish kicks in Grey! I can't wait to wear them!

This weekend we will be making Apple Cider Moscow Mule cocktails. I love trying a new drink and there is nothing better then getting cozied up at home with something tasty to drink and TV binge watching. Currently hooked on The Leftovers.

Apple Cider Moscow Mule Recipe (serves 1)
2 ounces ginger flavored vodka
2 ounces apple cider (store bought or homemade)
Juice of 1 small lime wedge
Good quality ginger beer to top off (about 1/2 cup or so)
Cinnamon to sprinkle

In a copper mug, add the vodka, apple cider and lime juice. Fill the glass with ice, sprinkle cinnamon over the ice, then top off with ginger beer. Stir well and garnish with an apple slice and cinnamon stick.

I hope you enjoyed these random tid bits and that you have a wonderful weekend! xo
