It is with so much excitement that I share our first of three wedding posts with you. John and I were married in Olympia, WA at the Schmidt Mansion. John and I both grew up in Olympia so it was special to get married in our hometown at a historic location. We invited 23 people to a private ceremony and family style dinner. I am so thankful that we followed our hearts of keeping the first portion of our wedding small. It really allowed us to be present, to remember the moments, hours, day. Of course there were so many family members and friends that were missed during that portion of the day but by keeping our wedding small it truly allowed John and I to be present with ourselves, each other other and our immediate family. It was a very special day.

my sister was my maid of honor and john's sister was his "grooms-lady" they both wore Alfred Angelo gowns. The far left dress is the beautiful dress that my mother wore.
you can shop her dress here:
my wedding shoes were a gift from John. the most important shoes, they were the shoes I walked down the aisle in to share vows to become husband and wife. these heels are Badgley Mischka here.
John and I didn't see each other before our ceremony which was so special. Moments after we were married our photographed captured this moment of me showing off the pretty shoes John gifted me. I love that the moment was caught on camera.
john and i both had wedding day scents. i got this sweet idea from my sister who got married just a few months prior. i wore "love story" by Chloe and John wore Acqua di Giò - Profumo by Giorgio Armani (it was released right before our wedding). Of course we have several lovely memories to remind us of our day but its nice to have a scent that brings me right back to our wedding day.
i wore my mother's earrings and had our local grocery store make a floral crown for my rehearsal that i also wore on the day of our wedding for our reception.
My mom picked out the greens for my bouquet and our friend Linda made it for me (they did such a beautiful job! I am so beyond happy with the way my bouquet turned out) The ribbons are from Stella Wolfe here they have such a beautiful website and collection and was absolutely that elegant touch my bouquet needed.
Both chairs that my bouquet is photographed on are from Classic Vintage Rentals here. We borrowed a truck full of pieces to complete our wedding set-up and all of the pieces fit with the mansion perfectly.
My hair and makeup was done by the talented Sarah Andersen from Sarah Andersen Artistry. You can see more of her work here.
John's siblings were part of his bridal party. His brother was his best man and his sister was his grooms lady.
We are so blessed to have had our siblings by our sides. We love them more than words can express.
